JAKARTA -- PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) closed 2023 with a bang. BRI succeeded in recording various positive achievements throughout 2023, both in terms of positive performance, national and international recognition, and continuing to carry out its role as an agent of development.
BRI President Director Sunarso said that BRI's success in closing 2023 well cannot be separated from BRI's commitment to creating value, both economic value and social value.
Through various sustainable transformation programs carried out by BRI, the company has succeeded in achieving new achievements. There are 10 fantastic achievements of BRI throughout 2023:
1. Achieve the title of largest company in Indonesia according to Forbes Global 2000
The world's leading economic magazine Forbes International publishes the 2023 Forbes The Global 2000 list which contains the 2,000 largest public companies in the world based on sales, profits, assets and market value.
BRI is in the top ranking among companies in Indonesia. Internationally, BRI has the best ranking, namely 307, an increase compared to last year's achievement of ranking 349 in the world.
2. Get more than 190 Awards
For its impressive financial performance, BRI received recognition and appreciation from various institutions through achieving more than 190 awards from January-December 2023. These awards came from various credible institutions and organizations, at national and international levels.
3. Printed a profit of IDR 44.21 trillion or grew 12.47 percent in 9 months
In the third quarter of 2023, BRI made a profit in 9 months which reached IDR 44.21 trillion or grew 12.47 percent year-on-year (yoy).
4. Distribute dividends of IDR 43.94 trillion
On March 13 2023, BRI distributed dividends of 85 percent of consolidated net profit throughout 2022 or IDR 43.94 trillion. For dividends which are the state's share of ownership of at least 53.19 percent of the shares, it reaches IDR 23.15 trillion.
5. Record for the highest BRI share price of all time
Under Sunarso's leadership, BRI (BBRI) shares touched an all time high in trading session I, July 27 2023 at the level of IDR 5,750 per share. This record share price further confirms BBRI as the BUMN with the largest market capitalization in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, at the close of the 2023 market (29/12/2023), BBRI closed at a price of IDR 5,725 per share with a market capitalization of IDR 867.68 trillion.
