Ganjar provides solution to never ending South China Sea problem
JAKARTA -- Presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo believes that Indonesia can play a role in resolving the conflict in the South China Sea. Indonesia, said Ganjar Pranowo, has many steps that can be taken, one of which is implementing a temporary agreement.
According to Ganjar, this temporary agreement can prevent something undesirable from happening. Ganjar said the first step that would be offered was to evaluate efforts to resolve the South China Sea problem which had not been resolved for 20 years.
This was conveyed by Ganjar Pranowo when answering questions regarding Indonesia's contribution in managing the South China Sea conflict at the third presidential candidate debate held at Istora Senayan, Sunday (7/1/2024) evening.
Ganjar explained that equipment modernization in China would be completed in 2027. Because of this, the potential for conflict with other countries could arise. Even though the war did not reach Indonesia, the impact of the war would also be felt.
Ganjar emphasized the need to strengthen patrols in the South China Sea region. Because of this, floating tankers are needed that can be used by the Indonesian Navy for patrols. In this way, logistics costs will be very cheap.
