PLN fully supports Erick Thohir's electric vehicle policy at BUMN ministry
JAKARTA -- PLN is building a Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) at the Office of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). This was done to fully support the steps taken by the Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir to use electric vehicles as official vehicles for Echelon I and Echelon II officials.
BUMN Minister Erick Thohir said that the use of electric vehicles as official vehicles is a strategic step for the energy transition in the BUMN ecosystem.
This step is also in line with the mandate of Presidential Instruction Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Use of Battery-Based Electric Motorized Vehicles (KBLBB) as Operational Service Vehicles and/or Individual Service Vehicles for Central Government and Regional Government Agencies.
"This is part of our commitment to Indonesia's future, we try to continue to participate by using Electric Vehicles (EV)," said Erick Thohir at the Inauguration of the Use of Electric Vehicles within the Ministry of BUMN which was held at the Ministry of BUMN Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/1 ).
Erick believes that by switching to electric vehicles, his party is contributing to three goals. First, contribute to maintaining cleaner air quality. Second, supporting the President of the Republic of Indonesia's program to downstream green industry. Third, encourage energy efficiency.
“The use of electric vehicles directly provides significant savings compared to conventional vehicles. Save 60 percent fuel," added Erick.
The Minister of BUMN expressed his appreciation to PLN for supporting the Ministry of BUMN to realize the use of electric vehicles as official vehicles.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo stated PLN's commitment to continue supporting the government in its energy transition efforts through building infrastructure to support the electric vehicle ecosystem.
To support the implementation of the use of electric vehicles within the Ministry of BUMN, PLN built SPKLU Fast Charging at the Ministry of BUMN Office and home charging for charging at the residences of Ministry of BUMN officials.
Until December 2023, there will be more than 900 SPKLU operating in 411 locations throughout Indonesia. Of the total, 624 SPKLU are managed by PLN.
As for the details, Banten 26 SPKLU, Jakarta 113 SPKLU, West Java 150 SPKLU, Central Java and DIY 50 SPKLU, East Java 62 SPKLU, Bali 63 SPKLU, Sumatra 62 SPKLU, Kalimantan 37 SPKLU, Sulawesi 27 SPKLU, Nusa Tenggara 25 SPKLU, Maluku 5 SPKLU, and Papua 2 SPKLU.
To accelerate the growth of SPKLU, PLN is opening collaborations with various parties, especially business actors, banks, malls, offices, the private sector, transportation service operators and others.
