Erick Thohir: State-owned banks provide access to financing IDR 1,600 Trillion
Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara) had distributed financing of IDR 1,600 trillion to small, micro and medium enterprises (MSMEs) until September 2023.
BUMN and Himbara have encouraged 30 million MSME players to enter the digital system. Erick revealed that from the accumulated financing provided by Himbara, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) became the bank distributing access to distributed financing, namely 83 percent of the total funds of IDR 1,600 trillion.
Erick added that the Ministry of BUMN supports the development of the MSME ecosystem, one of which is through the absorption of MSME products for the procurement of BUMN under 300 million through the PaDi UMKM platform.
"The PaDi UMKM platform, which we launched in 2019, today has total transactions of IDR 37.2 trillion until October 2023," said Erick.
Currently, the MSME market is also being developed, where the government ensures that MSMEs have access to quality exports abroad. Apart from online trade, holding exhibitions abroad can also be an opportunity to expand the MSME market overseas. BUMN encourages holding similar activities in Saudi Arabia, China and India.
