Will Gibran Fight Ridwan Kamil in 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election?

The election for the governor of DKI Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, is still a long way off, namely in 2024. However, psychological warfare and the formation of perceptions of candidates for governor of Jakarta have been discussed recently.
A number of names have emerged as candidates for governor of Jakarta to replace Heru Budi Hartono, the acting governor of Jakarta after Anies Baswedan has completed his term.
The political maneuvers of several political parties have raised several names as candidates for governor of Jakarta, namely Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, and former Banyuwangi regent Abdullah Azwar Anas.
Executive Director of Indonesian Political Parameters Adi Prayitno assessed that the parties would carry top names to run for the Jakarta Pilkada. The reason is that the DKI Pilkada is often identified with the epicenter of political power of parties.
Adi gave an example of PDIP preparing President Joko Widodo's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming, to be one of the candidates to be carried out. PDIP has also prepared three other names, namely Tri Rismaharini, Abdullah Azwar Anas, and former mayor of Semarang Hendrar Prihadi.
The Golkar Party has the opportunity to become a candidate for Ridwan Kamil, who recently joined the banyan party. In the Nasdem Party, there is the name of Ahmad Syahroni and from the Gerindra Party Ahmad Riza Patria.
"Golkar Party brought up the name of Ridwan Kamil, which I think the public already knows has a big name," said Adi as quoted by Republika.co.id.
The tendency of these potential figures to advance in the DKI Pilkada depends on their own party. The general chairman of each party has an important role in determining the candidate for governor.
This political observer from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah still believes that these parties will carry their own big names.
The joining of Ridwan Kamil to the Golkar Party some time ago has led to a number of speculations, among which Ridwan will be prepared as a candidate for governor of Jakarta. Ridwan has a fairly high level of electability in several presidential and vice presidential candidate surveys.
